You think you're only hurting yourself, but if it were possible to get in a terrible wreck and opt out of all of these burdens, then you would only be hurting yourself.

This thread should probably be closed. I don't see a need to bypass safety systems for any reason in any vehicle.

And BTW, I got into an accident while I was dating a chic that said the same thing as you. She believed that when it was her time to go then it was her time. She didn't need a seatbelt to decide her life. I lost control of my car and hit a guard rail. I had my seatbelt on, she didn't. She went into the windshield and I walked away.

I've always worn my seatbelt and will not get in the front seat of a car without putting one on. I'd rather get a bruise from the belt than experience the affects of an airbag deploying on my face.

Just call the junkyards around you and ask if they have any rsx's on the lot. Go to the car and cut hte male portion off the seatbelt and buy that. Then you can just click it into your female attachment and be done with it. You can alway's take it out and put your seatbelt on if you need to.

im pretty sure that not having your seats belts on would make your airbags deploy differently which would be even worse..

I tried doing that but unfortunately my local junkyard didn't have any rsx's this summer...blah, will have to check back again

Find a salvaged 02-04 RSX and use their seatbelt piece off of the seat? I'm sure they're swapable and ours won't have the wiring or technology to beep...

And no Jack, i'm not encouraging you to not use your seatbelt! Although i'm not here to lecture you either.... Just be careful bro!

there actually is a way, as i believe every manufacturer is required to have a way to turn it off, although they may not tell you. First I'd try calling the dealer or writing to acura. They may or may not tell you (for legal reasons, in case you turn it off and turn arouind and sue them). If they don't, you'd hafta figure it out yourself. I'm guessing it has somethng to do with turning the car to on while holding the odo button,a nd fastening and unfastening the belt , although i don't know in which order and how long. I know that's how it works on toyotas

just remove the fucking seatbelt led from the dash and the damn little speaker that beeps. much easier than going to a junkyard to plug in a seatbelt end, etc.

or, try one of these:

temp solution: turn car on, then buckle, then unbuckle belt - will reset when car is turned off

permanent solution:

put on parking brake, transmission in neutral, all accessories OFF.

turn car to on - wait 15 seconds
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
turn headlights on then off
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt
seatbelt thing should flash or stay lit for three seconds
buckle seatbelt
unbuckle seatbelt

now it should be PERMANENTLY disabled...if that doesn't work, then try this other fix that works on the other acura models:

parking brake set, trans in neutral, all accessories off

hold down odometer
turn car to on - wait 15 seconds
buckle and unbuckle seatbelt 3 times
light should flash - buckle and unbuckle one more time
you're done

read both of these on another acura forum, one of these *should* work for the rsx-s

edit: just noticed silverbase's post...damn, he was right on the money! good guess!
