Prepping for HIN this Saturday.. Plans?

So I'll be Prepping for HIN this coming Saturday.. I'll be taking the car out of storage tonight around 10:30... I gotta drive off a quarter tank of gas!!@#!!

The car was NXT'd about 2 weeks ago... Then sat in the rain for a week.

Anyone have a ritual they follow to prepping a car for a show?

My plans go..

Tonight--
Put interior back together
Interior vacuum, leather conditioner, dust trim, engine bay
Do a quick wash, clean wheels, Apply 1st coat of NXT wax

Tomorrow morning before load in---
Touch up any missed spots from last night
Wash car with NXT carwash, apply 2nd coat of NXT
Polish wheels with mother's powerball, wax with NXT
Polish Exhaust .. same..
Meguire's gold class on the black trim

After car is loaded in---
Touch up from the drive there (15 miles)... Using NXT quick detailer

Saturday before show openings--
Dust car with duster
Use NXT quick detailer on touch up

If anyone feels I left something out.. PLEASE let me know!!

i don't think you gain much by layering NXT, it has cleaning properties, so when you layer it, it removes the old layer of wax anyways. Your car is dead sexy man, you need to step it up to some better products that can get that black to shine. You should look into a porter cable polisher becuase i noticed some swirl marks at the uconn show (black is a bitch)

I don't want to park it in Boston. I live in the city. So I keep it at my family's house.. ~20 minutes out of Boston.

So 2 layers would be a waste of time?

Are there any product off the shelf that can look better than NXT.. I can get say at Autozone or a local shop?

umm, maybe some meg paste wax? i've never used it. The nxt is a good one step wax, but you should clay and polish your car first if you want it to look best.

I'm actually using the NXT Paste Wax.. Is that similar?

I have some Megure's clay leftover.. I'll prob clay the trunk and hood of the car since those 2 parts get the most attention. Then watch over it..

Prob try to clay my wheels too!!

And to this all at a car wash at 12am tonight SWEET.

I figured you will probably do this but make sure to clean the inside of your wheels once you get to the show cause some brake dust will be on them.

How do you guys clean the inside of the wheels? Do you guys take the wheels off? They are completely black, I remember from last weekend.

Hey dont forget tire shine apply it to the tire and also get soem spray tire shine and spray it on the inside of the fender liners it will really make it shine. You you really want to stand out apply a light coat to the thread but make sure to be care full driving the first few feet after the show.

Also wipe out your wheels again to get the dressing off of them, and wipe the edge of the fender to get rid of any over spray.

We did that on my friends rsx that was in HIN DC last week and ended up with a 18 out of 20 score over all. Not bad in my opinion.

Didn't have time to take any... total of 6 hours before load in at my house... then another coat of bottled NXT after load in...

That paste wax worked well.. as a cleaner.. but holy crap that shit is hard to take off!!

I still need to clean the inner side of the wheels today before the show.. I'll snap a few pics during the show.. won't have much light though..
