Any one ever installed a towing package on your RSX??

Nothing major, just to tow something small like jet ski or single motorcycle??

I have found a class 1 hitch and seen some decent single rail trailers for motorcycles. I would like to trailer from south texas to south dakota in august so it will deffinitely be a long haul up & back...

Whattya think? do -able with a type S??

If you have trailered or some one you know with an RSX has done it, please fill me in if you can

Thanks

If you have the hitch, the rest should be no problem. I used to tow a jet ski with my old Ford Escort - no problems...of course, that was back when jet skis were small and fun...not the monster couches that they are today.

Funny video...LOL

I'm all set and ready to go. Thanks Rpm 6100 for the hitch

FYI-
All acuras including the RSX come with an accessory trailer harness and connector pre-wired into the car from the factory even though there is no mention in the owners manual. The dealer didnt even know until i showed them the connector and reference to it in the helm manual (pg22-37 Connector8)

I stumbled on to it just as i was about to splice into the tail lite wires. It's below the right tail lite access panel inside close to the child seat anchor. I simply had to order the opposite end of the connector (male pin side) through the dealer (p/n 04320-SP0-G00), connect the trailer harness to it and plug it in; no splicing into the car wires needed.

I am about to pull 1000 lbs (trailer & bike) for 2600 miles in early august with a type s.

I'll let you all know how it goes...(fingers crossed)

just buy a truck, huh?
money dont grow on trees and i dont have anything saved up for something like that; besides mileage on trucks sucks.
ofcoarse a truck is the way to go- i dont disagree; just cant swing it these days......
The S will have to do

Nope, didnt think it could be done, but I guess it can, I still love my rear bumper though; looks better on the car than in the rear view! More power to ya!

it's not attached at the bumper so no worries there. it's actually bolted to the sub frame

That video was hilarious! Totally wasn't expecting it to die out and roll backwords, but that made it so much funnier.

Update:

back in 1 piece. A cross country trip over 2700 miles with no problems at all!!
The type s is an awesome car and the K20 is an excellent powerplant. At times, i would hit 80 on the open highway, passing wasnt a problem either.
The owners manual actually refers to towing and it is acceptable up to 1000 lbs. The only real struggles came to going up extended inclines. A quick down shift solved all that though -although i wouldnt want to try to pull anything through the rockies..lol
