Best PMP (Portable Media Device) NEED opinions as of late!

Looking for a new PMP, I've never owned an ipod (borrowed my dads, battery crapped out when the ipod was still pretty new and never been a real fan..)

what im looking for is a PMP that has pretty much the latest standard features.. wifi, audio/video playback (supporting a range of common codecs and playback formats.. xvid, divx, mp3, wma, wmv, etc.) etc. now i just ordered a pair of alessandro ms-1's which should be a sick pair of cans, but dont want it to suffer in audio quality because the player i use isn't as good as the pair of headphones i got. (zomg im so excited for the ms-1s). price is flexible, i just feel like buying myself a sweet gift

ITOUCH 16gb $400 everywhere?

I've been looking at the itouch and while its touch screen works pretty well with the UI, the safari browser doesn't seem to be able to capture the net as well as i think it should. For the money, i'd rather spend more for a real PMP. For those that have the itouch, would you recommend it to others? do you all have any gripes about it? 16gb seems so small compared to some of the other PMP's out there especially for the price.

archos 705 wifi 80gb $369 on ritzcamera

(couldn't find a pic with it next to a sizable object for reference..)
i've been looking into the archos 705, but 7" seems like it might be a little to large for me. the browser on this unit seems to be able to watch daily motion, youtube, break.com, etc.etc. archos isn't as big as i think it should be in the states, but theyre moving to increase market share with some new products. anyone know anyone with one or have heard any significant reviews? i think the archos has a 160gb unit (oh yeah, this unit runs off a linux based os)

cowon q5w 60gb unit for 575ish on bhphotovideo
http://www.playerbites.com/wp-conten...on_q5_pmp1.jpg (they dont allow hotlinking )

stylus what? looks like the keyboard and most of the interface requires the stylus to do anything right! (wait, even with the stylus its hard to click around). windows CE? blah! i do like the unit though, 5" with a great quality screen. wondows CE office viewer is nice, although win CE kindof sucks! 13hr audio/7hr video playback, usb, MSN + voice chat!, supposedly fully flash capable playback with a plethora of codecs (divx, xvid, wmv, mpeg, mp4, mp3, ogg, wma, flac, wav, etc. etc.) oh yeah, i think it can display RAW image files too (+1, im into photography..) I think i can plug my camera directly into the cowon unit and xfer raw images into the q5w for viewing.

itouch seems decent, dont want to just hop on with the fanboys and follow the trend with this player. of course its good, but i think there is better out there.

the archos seems too big for me, although itd be cool to setup a helmet cam recording to the unit when im boarding (i go boarding a lot), and archos is relatively unpopular here in the states (product support?) this french company (i think) seems to be much more popular elsewhere..

the cowon unit, although 175 more than the itouch, has pretty much every feature the itouch has, except for more.. it also has 46gb more space which, to me, seems as if apple would already charge somewhere around $175 additional to the itouch if they offered a 60gb unit.

i've tried looking for reviews online, couldn't get that many in-depth details on the archos and cowon units.. if you guys know of other quality units please feel free to recommend them, or pls warn me about them!

edit: added pics, and forgot to mention the archos and cowon units both have on-board sound for video playback if youre with a friend.. i hear the quality isn't bad on either unit. oh yeah forgot that i think they both have FM radio as well

I have a Cowon A2 and absolutely love the thing. It has great video playback, played everything I have thrown at it, great battery life, and awesome screen. I was debating between that and the Archos and when with the Cowon because it was a lot smaller, a lot better battery life, and you dont have to pay for features (like video recording and playback on TV's and playing divx codecs).

Just my 2 cents.

I use my PSP ($159) for everything pretty much...

plays games(obviously)
videos(i'm talking movies, vids, pron, etc)
pics(you can send pics to other psp's around you as well)
music
surf the interwebz
hell, now you can even use it as a Skype phone

My bro has a 16gb Itouch and he loves the thing. I've used it and I think its pretty hot. I'd buy one if I didn't own a PSP, since I don't see the point in buying ANOTHER media player, lol. I AIN'T RICH

Cowon ftw.. just picked up a Cowon A3 and no complains. Plays about every video format and looks sleek, too.
