How much should it cost to Paint a bumper?

hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a bumper (preferably painted). If not then how much should it cost for a quality paint job on a bumper for an 05 Type-S, and then the install?

I got an estimate today for some touch-up work and they wanted to charge me around $500, which i thought was a bit high. However i know you get what you pay for, and i don't want a half ass job done either. So i might be better off just buying a whole new bumper. what do you guys think?

Also, does anyone know if the plastic trim between the Bumper and the Bumper lip is sold separately? and if not, what it that attached to? the bumper or the bumper lip? lol sorry for all the questions, but I'm just trying to get some good knowledge on this topic so i don't get ripped off by a body shop.

Here's some pics guys.. what do you think?

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it

Regards,
Retro

Hmmm doesn't look too bad. You can buy a brand new bumper, although I'm not sure if its painted or not through delray acura @ acuraoemparts.com. I think the rear was something like 305.00? I rolled back into my room mates car today and did some minor damage to my rear as well. I'll be getting an estimate tomorrow

Depending on where you get it painted. Local body shops estimator will give you a really high price. If your lucky enough to wonder the shop and talk to some painters they may be able to hook you up for around 100. Typically, I can get a bumper painted for 50. Touch up should only cost 80/ most, i get it for free because i work in a body shop

I got my rear bumper painted for $100...very similar minor-damage that you have. I would have paid $200 to $250 to have it done....which is still a fair price to me, but not $500

Keep searching around till you find a better deal. G/L

Most new bumpers don't come painted, so you're looking at ~$300 for the bumper + ~$200-250 for paint and prep.

Try prepping it yourself, and see what they would charge. If you master the skill, it's indispensable knowledge.
