calling RSX to Fit owners and opinions

For those who switched from RSX-S to the Honda Fit, or anyone who owns a Fit, or has an opinion,...
1. Why did u switch?
2. What do u like better/ worse about it?
3. Would u recommend, or not the switch?
4. Any other input or thoughts?

I ask because of gas prices going up and Fit's take regular and get better MPG's
I know a lot of owning a car is personal preference, but im just looking for any opinions on the matter of what other poeple liked better about one car over the other.

for reference, im almost 21 and commuting to school and currently drive an 06 rsx-s

unless you need the two extra doors, and the practicality, I would not move to a fit. and MPG my friend get like 35 mpg on an automatic, thats only 3 MPG than my Si... so if you want more MPG, drive slower.

I would get the two door Yaris. I think it looks better than the Fit but in the end they're both ugly. I believe the Yaris gets better gas mileage as well.

If you feel the RSX doesn't get your good gas mileage (I'm pretty happy with my gas mileage) and you feel like gas is taking all your money, I guess a switch seems logical.

? why are you thinking about a Fit they have like 100 less hp and dont get that much better gasmileage than a RSX. if you looking at it for an etra car that yuo wont beat on than go for it.

I like the way the fits look, and 35mpg is great for an automatic

I tried telling my gf to get one and trade in her 05 4runner with 110k, but she said they were ugly

ya i would be using it just like i use my rsx, a daily driver. and its not like i beat on my rsx all the time and i never race it.

but the epa estimates mpg for the Fit is 28/34 and the rsx-s is 23/31. so its better in the city which is wehre i do most of my driving, but still better overall

i want to stay in the honda family too and maybe get a project car going to so this im thinking is my best option

60% city driving and 40% highway with A/C I get 32mpg with the 5AT.

When I find a real job, this fit is going to be my project car also. Dropping a K in there fo sho.

I traded my TypeS in for a Fit... my reasons:

My son moved to GA, so I was gonna have kids in the car more often, so more doors would be nice as well as the versatility of the seats was a huge plus. Leg room is comparable to a Honda accord, so adults can ride in back quite comfortably as well. I've managed to move alot of stuff around in it and its perfect for long trips.

Gets great MPG, granted my TypeS wasn't too bad in that department, but this also takes regular, so thats an other added plus. I'm also saving over $450 a year in insurance after switching and my car payment is more than $100 less.

After gettin a house and now driving farther to/from work I decided I wanted to save money on the car front, so it was a good choice in that matter as well.

Do I miss the get-up of my TypeS? Of course! Could I have afforded a nicer 4-door DD? Yep.. but sometimes you gotta prioritize. ALSO... The less I spend on a DD now, the nicer weekend driver/sports car I can afford after my DD's paid off

cool. this is the reply i was looking for.^^ i would get the fit for daily driver as well, and hopefully get a project/ weekend driver

i never said the -s had bad gas mileage, its just the fit is better, and gas is cheaper for it, and with prices over $4/gal, any increase is a huge plus in the pocketbook

no offense to Fit owners or who have traded their rsx's for one... the FIT is hella ugly, just the fuckin' shape of it makes me want to

In the end you save money and that's what matters. Less insurance and gas FTW

...as for me, it's all worth it (for now)

i have rsx, gf HAD a Fit. I freakin loved it. Screw whatever anyone says about "low HP". You wont tell the difference. For the money, you get the most compared to all the other econo cars. ie. yaris, versa, xA, etc. Check out the 09 Fit. i'm planning to get that for a new daily driver and keep rsx at home.

gf's Fit got totaled by some ass, but she and her brother came out just fine. Settlement got her a new RDX. And Fits HOLD THEIR VALUES! she paid 17k drive out for her Fit sport auto, after the wreck, insurance gave her 16,500 for a car with 10k miles!! Thats without medical reimbursement too.

The jazz has a shorter nose so that's why there are fitment issues.
