Quick N00B question. I've noticed that the Peakboost turbo sits to the side of the block where the stock intake box used to be. I'm considering getting a Precision turbo set up, & I noticed THAT one sits behind the block. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to where the turbo sits? Or is it just how the specific company made it?

A lot of cars have tubular manifolds and for us, the only way to have this (safely imo) is with a "sidewinder" manifold that places the turbo where the airbox use to be. Look up log manifolds vs tubular on google or in the stickies

Aaahhh. I got it. The only real comparison is whether it's a tubular or log style manifold. I'm assuming the log style is the one that sits the turbo behind the block. I was just curious about it. I'm likely going to be buying a turbo kit in about a month, & I'm still learning as I go about turbos. Thanks for the information on the different manifolds.

I really don't know yet since it was just dyno tuned tonight. I'll give it a couple weeks and try to report back.

When Daniel did my street tune, I was getting about 200 miles to the tank for mostly city driving. On the highway though, I could get way better mileage.

It helped having Daniel in my corner thinking we could safely get a little more out of it.

Time to build the tranny though so I can put some of this power to use.

Hey, i got a question.. How much pump 91 in your tank did you have first? And then did you just add c16 in the gas tank? I am curious on how you mixed it in there?

Tank was at 3/4 with 91 when I got there, and when we were done with the pump tune was at 1/4. Undid the return line off the FPR and ran the car so it could pump out all the 91. Then we poured the C16 in.

oh k... 1 local shop told me that I had to mix 91/93 with c16 in it.. And also said I had to run it out and not to leave it in the tank for daily driving... Somebody told me that c16 has lead in it and it will kill your o2, is that true?

The sudden drop in power just before 7k was something dyno related. Had a couple runs at the end that ended short because the dyno shut down.

Yeah. It just kinda dragged out all day. The shop was getting pretty busy, especially towards the end, plus the time the car was just sitting there cooling down.

Much harder to stay out of boost now. Spools pretty quick for its size, was able to get full spool by like 4700 on the pump tune.

Drove it briefly to the gas station on C16, couldn't punch it but I could feel it had a lot more power with just part throttle.

Vids coming soon.
