I figured rather than check what times magazines get (because they're usually bad) I'd check here instead. So what times usually to LS1 GTOs trap with 6 speed transmissions? (Or should I call it an M6?) Anyhow, tell me what you guys have seen.

mid to high 13's. High 13's being the norm. Their trap speed is a little slower than an f-body, so figure around 105mph for the norm. Of course, it can very a few mph either way. And yes, it's referred to as M6 for the 6-speed.

I guess that's still pretty quick, but I kind of thought they were faster. So you say an f-body would be even faster? Hmm. I guess the beauty in them is that they both have so much displacement that you can make them a ton faster with great ease.

from what ive seen and read f body>gto it cant fit nearly as wide tires out back, traction is the gto's worst enemy. I think I read 285 is all that fits out back without quite a bit of work. I'll wait for one of the gto owners/ex owners to chime in and confirm this.

Dynoed it yesterday and only made it to 5800 RPM's before it ran out of fuel. Installing a boost a pump and doing a line mod. Even at only 5800 RPM's and just 10 PSI it made 520/460 through a non lock up auto with 93 octane

Thanks for the quality info. I've had the GTO on my list of potential next cars for a while. Wouldn't be able to afford an LS2, but it'd be for DD purposes mostly. V8, RWD, independent rear suspension, kind of hard to pass up, plus for some reason they're extremely inexpensive. I guess it's because the LS2 version came out so soon after the GTO was introduced? Depreciation can't be THAT hard on a car without some demand-related issues. But anyhow, thanks again for the info guys.
