Adding a TSX 5th & 6th Gear

I have seen a few threads about this and since we have done them in a few transmissions I decided to make a parts list for those that are comfortable with doing the work themselves. This is also something that we can do for anyone interested through our transmission build services.

The entire point to this upgrade is to make your 5th and 6th gear longer. The reason to do this is so that your RPM is lower at a specific speed. The lower the RPM the less fuel you are using and the better gas mileage you get.

Here is the link with all the part numbers and details: http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/tsxgears.html

My question is how hard is it to put the TSX 1st and 2nd gear in a base tranny ?

Try 4000 RPMS at 70 mph...and that is after bigger tires. Great acceleration though.

I think it's the 4.7, whatever is stock in a 2003 K20A. I also have 205/55/15 tires, which are about halfway between stock for my Civic and stock for an RSX. On 15x7 rims they barely fit without rubbing.

not exactly sure why you would want to but all you would need is the main shaft and the countershaft 1st and 2nd gear.

my stock tranny from my k20z1, and hopefully we could re-use the rsx gears where applicable. My tranny is about two months away from taking a Huge shit (and thats a rough guesstimate).

edit: my goal in this is to get second gear usable again in a boosted application on 235 nitto invos. I'm shooting for 350-375 at the wheels whichever route I take. If i use a blower, it's going to be aftercooled and a k24 will be in the works next summer. Or if I use a snail, it will be straight k20.

probably be better to email me so that I can research all the parts depending on what you want to do. I know we can do it and labor wouldn't be too bad since we have to pull it all apart anyway
