Splash guard around tire fell off!!! also, engine shield at the bottom

Hey guys,

My splash guard on front passenger side came off!!! I'm not talking about the mud flaps that everyone hates. This is the black plastic thing that goes around the tire, to protect splashes into engine, etc. After doing the black headlamp mod and installing front lip, I put back the bumper without screwing on bolts on some areas. I guess that caused the splash guard to just fall off. Also, the engine shield (the plastic thing at the bottom) fell off too for the same reason.

So my question is,
are these necessary for protecting the engine?

It would cost about $200 to repair, I was just wondering if it would be worth it.
I haven't taken to the dealer yet.

Let me know what you guys think,
Thanks, :

I installed my passenger fenders because i have a CAI and also bought the underbody shield but am planning on selling it

I would fix it. Otherwise you'd be splashing water and mud all over the hot engine and all over your electrical connections. Not only would you have a huge mess, you'd risk stalling every time you drive through a puddle.

I would try to find one used off a crashed RSX or look for a partout thread. Either way, I hate the shitty plastic clips they use to secure it all.

Compare your weather to where the OP lives, and I think you might change your thought on the subject at hand.

oh is that right?

but there's other pieces covering the engine too... even without that one
piece in the middle, the engine looks well protected?

thing in middle and passenger fender liners protect the drive belts. drivers fender liner doesnt protect anything important.
