I got the same codes. FOr the guys with headers it seems like a defouler fixes it, but I have no exhaust mods on my car and my gas mileage is SHIT! Idle also seems kinda rough and my a/c and heater doesnt work. Lights come on, but blower isnt blowing out air.

i got 02 RSX base two codes come up this week.

P1166 & P1167

Both different codes but the define are the same
- Poor electrical connection
- Excessive rich condition
- Fail AF sensor

I 'm on a low budget this time, so i hope someone can give me some tip to fix it.

I'm the only owner, i pump 89 octance up only Cheveron and Shell
The car is completly stock, except K&N air filter only.

I've got CEL Code from Jumper to be 41 which may correspond to:
P0134 --> Look at page 11-74 --> Check A/F Sensor on Exhaust side for loose connection
P1166 --> Pg 11-96 --> Reset ECM/ PCM warm up and see if problem comes back
P1167 --> Pg 11-99 --> Reset ECM/ PCM Warm up and see if problem comes back

I haven't got it checked to get the exact code but I think it's P1167 as mine only come on when starting up the car from cold.

What happens if if the car has been standing for more than 1 hr (exhaust has gone colder) CEL will come one 1 minute after starting up the car. If I turn off the car and turn it back on; CEL doesn't return even when driving for 300km or switching it off to get petrol.

But the next time I start it up after 1 Hr parked; CEL will come back on. So I've been turning it off and back on again everytime CEL comes.

Honda reckon I need a new primary O2 sensor which is not cheap.

I have the same code p1166. Ive replaced the primary and still get the same code... Ive also followed the OEM manual. It says that I have a short in a wire between the sensor and the fuses. I dont know where or how to check them.

Im thinking jumper wire and ohm meter but idk... it pisses me off. I get 12-15 miles to the gallon

I'm in the same boat as you ^ I have bought 2 different sensors to ake sure tbwy were both good and thbey were. My speedshop hardwired my o2 sensor to my hondata harness and could finally read af as to I couldn't before. But it doesn't read it correctly asnd wasn't able to change fuel values. O have. No idea what it is

i got both p1166 n p1167 after i put my stock exhaust mani on and i got a oem denso primary a/f sensor and it went away immediately. get it from ebay. i got mine for 185 shipped. the dealership wanted 390 for it. for a 02-04 type s the denso part number is 234-9005. u just gotta make sure its the right one cause theres like 4 or 5 different primary sensors for rsx's.
