anyone?> wired front turn signals to parking lights?

i tried searching the forums...
im wondering if anyone has tried wiring the front turn signals to stay on as parking lights? i know its a stupid little mod, but i think the turn signal would look pretty hot if it stayed on as a parking light also. ive never seen it done, but if no one else has a DIY, then im doing it.

oh. have you done this before?
as long as you run the correct wattage bulb, couldnt you just swap the wires from the side marker lights to the turn signal lights and vice versa? cuz the side marker lights blink too, right? im reffering to the 05-06 headlights btw. any advice would be helpful. thanks

no i dont think the side markers blink at all............do they?

but yea i did think of that i dea too. changing the power wires. but yea the signal watts might be too high for the side markers. but hey it might work? higher watt bulb for the side marker? and it u blow a fuse, then change that too. hahaha

i guess we can test things out. ill pull out the signal this weekend. kinda tired on working on the car. just lowered it yesterday and now im tired but cant stop staring at it. hahahaha

yea i think tomarow i will try something. i looked up the wattage- 4.9 watts for the side marker and 27 watts for the turn signal. im assuming it might be as easy as swapping the bulbs, since they are both wedge style, and then extending the wires from the sidemarkers to the blinkers, and vice versa. if anything i might have to dick around with the bulb sockets to get the bulbs to fit properly. seems pretty straight forward, and im surprised there isnt already a DIY on this. it seems like more people would have thought of this. i cant wait til people wake up in the morning and start bashing this thread claiming im an idiot because i dont blow my money jdm parts and bolt them on my car like everyone else! these forums tend to frown on people looking to try something new.

hahaha yea true that.

will hell, if they are both wedge bulbs, then thatll be easy to swap.

but i havent seen the connector to the signal like i said. the side mark has this kind of an extension from the connector to the bulb.

just looking form the outside, the signal bulb looks pretty damn big compared to the side marker's tiny bulb. but it might just be the head light.

good luck reaching for that signal? looks hard to get to.

I did it. My sidemarkers are on when i have my parking lights on. Then when I use my turn signal, they blink off then back on... etc etc. Looks tight. No blown fuses for like... 5 years??

he's talking bout the front signals guys, not side markers.

i have a question though. is the connector for the front signals the same as the rear?
if so then this shoud be an easy mod.

good point... i will check. im sure its slightly different, but it might work with some modification.
so youre saying take the taillight connector from the turn/parking bulb and use it up front, splicing the parking light wire into the parking light on the corner?
im gunna check on this as soon as possible and let you guys know.
anyone else think this is a neat mod, or useless? if i dont get any good feedback then im not gunna bother doing a write up.

no, thats not wat i ment. becuase wat you're thinking of doing wont make a difference. hahaha

if the connectors are the same, then you can do the rewire just like the tail light rewire.....get it? unless thats what you ment already. hahaha

i guess that way makes more sense. i thought you meant the other way, and it didnt make much sense to do it that way, but it seams like it would work. but def better the other way.lol

I just got new headlights for my car and I want to be doing a very similar mod! Will be looking forward to your write up/DIY.

Kudos for uncharted territory!

found a link based on the 05-06 tail light conversion that may help - try wiring one of your wires for the light you want on all the time to the parking light wire (tap into that)
and the other wire to the turn signal wire (tap into that)

Net effect = light on all the time and flashes when signalling.
I'd recommend low voltage LEDs.

Check bottom of page for side notes.

Let me know if it works!

kinda confusing but i think i get wat your saying. so instead of the side markers. just do it with the fron turn signals. but the thing is the front and rear wont blink together. but that wouldnt matter anyways. ill read into it. did you aleady figured it out, how to wire it up? because we're not using side markers.

i dont think itll work. this is a wiring for a seperate light.(side markers)

if you wire it to the parking light. itll send power to the signals. even if you signal, it wouldnt make a difference because its already on. i dont think itll blink.
