Idle Concern.

While in neutral at a stop light or sign my car idles up to 12-1350 rpms very often but not all the time and then goes back down to 900 rpm(where I have it set to). Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Mods are cai rbc img straight pipe and kpro.
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
Sorry if this has been covered.

I didnt read your mods but if you have kpro its fixable. I am going through the same exact thing. When I smoothen out everything and fix it I can send you my map? VERY fine tuned map.

yah, it COULD be tuning, but if it is gunked up no amount of tuning is going to fix it.
if you know for a fact that its clean, then tuning is probably the issue. telling the OP that tuning IS his problem is just stupid, because you can't know for sure.

to OP
check the IACV before you do any tuning. search the DIY section and clean it out. if the problem persists, then chime back in

Oh and btw tuning is much easier. why tell him to go clean something he prob has no experience with? If my map doesn't work, simply check that off the list. Unlike a lot of people on here I try and HELP others, not tell them to search and send them on their merry way.

the FIRST thing to do is fix the PHYSICAL part of the car, not band aid it with tuning.
you seriously are a fucking idiot

Ok, now that we got the fucking idiot part out of the way...How the fuck are you band aiding the problem? Seriously, if the idle is still fucked up with a few changes, THEN he can look into cleaning his iacv. I have 2 guys on here who have been on the site a hell of alot longer than you or I and i'm sure they know a thing or 2. thanks for the post though dick. And another thing, I joined before you, so I win. ha ha

you'd be band aiding because the iacv would still be gunked... and you would tune around a gunked iacv.
and join dates = knowledge right?

what are you, 15 or something??

OP, listen to this guy. he knows everything.

Trying to joke around. Put your big-boy panties on and loosen up. God damn. People are fucking ridiculous these days. I was just putting my 2 cents out there. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you about who is right. Simply trying to help the guy out. Go ahead and clean the iacv and then pm me if it doesn't fix the problem. As for the asshole who likes to argue and take everything serious........

Aright guys stop arguing I'll check out both the ivac and the kpro. I am currently running on a dyno tune. I will post when finish. But which one is less time consuming?

Thanks for the suggestions!

kpro would probably be less time consuming, but you want to make sure your iacv isn't gunked up before you mess with kpro.
there is a DIY on here, it doesn't take long to do

Ok i'll do it on a non rainy day and let you know the status. But "gunked" up with what exactly? Even with my foot down on clutch and in 1st gear it starts revving up WITHOUT me depressing the gas pedal. wtf

its either the iacv (most common issue), the tps, or a vacuum leak. have you done anything to the car lately?
EDIT: how many miles is on your car?

I have 05 Type S. 46k miles.
I havent modded it since last summer.
It was driving fine for awhile then the last couple months its idling funny.
I tried to search for the DIY for iacv but couldnt find it.
I'm just going to retrace all the lines to go to or near the tb and make sure they are tightened.
