02 RSX Tape won't eject
I woke up this morning and unfortunately the tape deck will not read the tape in it and I cannot get it to eject. I am stuck in the past and have the stock Bose 6 disc changer (in dash) and use a tape for my ipod.
Any ideas? |

Its that old outdated piece of plastic that used to have music on it. Came after the 8-Track and before the CD. People used to stand on corner with huge music playing devices on their shoulders blaring music that was on these things.
Maybe I should find an 8-Track player that would fit in my car and jive to some Simon and Garfunkel. lol |

Stick jn a pin or hairclip or something to the middle bottom area. Be careful not to fuck up thr tape reader thing though. If u take a look you'll see a little thingy there holding the tape in. Gently pry it and press eject. Unless your eject button Is ducked up... This should work.
FYI my friend and I did this pm his type s and it worked. Not responsible for anything |

Thanks. I was pretty sure I would have to jimmy it out. I was hoping though that I could maybe disconnect it an then when it receives power again, it might recognize there is a tape in it.
When I press the eject button now, nothing happens and when I press the tape button, nothing happens most of the time but every so often, I will get a "TAPE ERROR" on the screen. or it might be "TAPE EROR" or something like that. |

Well, I looked under the tape and tried to jimmy it out, the reason it won't eject is there is a spring from somewhere (probably what pushes the tape up to eject) laying on its side and rolling around. Guess it is time for a new stereo.
Anybody know if a later model RSX stereo has an AUX jack in it and would fit an '02? I like the stock look but I unfortunately think I am going to have to get an aftermarket radio and a kit (http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/MET-99-7867.html)
