Serpentine Belt keeps shredding and i have no idea why . I checked all the pulleys and they seem to be ok. Have you seen this before? If so what did you do to fix it? I'm already on my 5th belt this month. Help please please please

Friend had the same problem and it was the tensioner pulley, it is or was, made partly of plastic (seemed like it was that) and it was cracking and breaking which let the pulley move and so did the belt which shredded it.
Not sure if thats the same case for our car. He had a saturn ion

Thats usually the case. it needs to be a perfect plane or else it will shread also.

That was my first thought so i went ahead and changed it even though the old pulley didn't seem so bad. Anyways that didn't help any.

Check the tensioner pulley bearing, if its bad it can make it slip off. Does it wobble when you are running the car?

That's the one i replace but it doesn't wobble... Do you think it could be the tension pulley assembly?

You can take the belt off and look/listen for any noise or wiggle is a bad pulley. Im going to guess its the tensioner problem though.

well watch the tensioner at idle, see if it's jumping around: if so, you need to replace the entire assembly, not just the pulley

i would just see if any of the pullys can wiggle or make noices than if you dont have a belt on it.
