My boosted Auto 05 build
So many of you all may or may not have known... that I was in the process of boosting my base auto 2005 RSX. Well after a solid week of work and 2 weeks at bluegrass muffler, its finally finished. All with the exception of the tune, is completely done. I have a tune to where I can have fun with it, but its not up to its full potential just yet. We were on a deadline to get the car done, and we reached it by 5 hours.
Anywho... onto the goodies ![]() Kpro Greddy T517z turbo kit Greddy front mount HKS SSQV3 Blow off New aluminum oil pan with oil return already welded transmission cooler AEM Wideband AEM boost gauge So we started the night of the 12th, got the front end off the car and the oil drained. ![]() Got the oil pan off and replaced the stock on with the new aluminum one ![]() ![]() We then took the time that the sub frame was laying on the ground next to the car, to go ahead and mount the turbo manifold/turbo housing to the block. ![]() ![]() Ran the oil lines, mounted the downpipe, and it hit absolutely everything (it was pre-modified to have a 3 inch exhaust from downpipe back, done by previous owner) along with it coming up about a foot short of my HKS hi power exhaust. We had to do something about that... ![]() Ran the intercooler piping and mounted the front mount intercooler, and ran into some issues there as well, it was meant to fit for the type-s and not a base auto, so the pipe that went from the intercooler to the TB didnt exactly line up right, so we had bluegrass fix that for me as well. so we loaded her up and took her to bluegrass muffler, who was going to fix my intercooler piping issue as well as the exhaust side issue. ![]() The fixed my downpipe ![]() They also fixed my intercooler piping (shiny pipe) ![]() From here we mounted everything up. Worked on making the front bumper fit. (had to take out the fog lights, I was sad to see them go) ![]() Wired in the gauges ![]() and called it a day. ![]()

fuuuu dawgg badass....what downpipe is that? is that the greddy downpipe cut and rewelded to a 3"?...im still on a 2.5".
and yea the intercooler pipes tend to bang against the huge auto tranny...its tight. and just loose the filter, i run my turbo open with no filter. lol waste of space, louder spool im curious to what you will make on stock throttle body and intake manifold....i made 266 hp and thats with an RBC intake manifold. PM me when you get tuned if you have any issues! what boost controller? |

oh and remember....to let off a little bit before each shift...youll see what i mean by it lagging. soon enough youll know exactly when to shift.
cuz one time i banged on the tranny so hard constantly running someone it locked me out of my transmission completely. *before tranny cooler was installed* |

I hope to get some numbers soon, but we got the car running and thats all that mattered to me, so will continue tweeking it, and will get some dyno time to put the finishing touchs on it. No dyno's around wanted to work with us on this project.

wow looks great man...i just have kpro in pending all the turbo parts to do that same...us base autos are coming up with the boosting now that we can have kpro...also i had an issue when i first put it in and it might be coincidence but i had 87 octane running when i installed it and got metallic sounding chirps when that tank finished i put in 93 and looks like that fixed it. have fun with it!!! take some vids of a few runs!

Directly behind the intercooler, heres a picture.
![]() its the black thing, and its about even with the bottom of the intercooler as well, so that shows how big it is Not currently. Since I am going for a low target, to keep the car autocross worthy and not have TOO much power, I want to limit the cars power to around 220 or so. Too much power out of a FWD car is a bad idea for racing purposes... If I was going for max power out of it I would totally go for a RBC or PRB + type-S TB.

The one I got plus about 5 feet of hose was 50$ from advanced autoparts. Im sure it would be good for any application. it was an easy install, just unhook from the stock on and put the new hose where you unhooked it from, and connect it to the tranny cooler.
