'06 RSX Type S No A/C after getting it fixed
Bought the car a few years ago and never had a/c, so I decided to get it fixed since I was tired of torturing myself on my daily commutes in 100 F temps with max humidity.
On Monday July 29 I had the a/c fixed. The shop supposedly replaced the fan, compressor, condenser, and some o-rings. Picked the car up and it was working perfectly. Everything felt great, no unusual sounds, air was ice. Drove the car Tue-Fri and everything was great until the drive home Friday Aug 2. That is when I noticed what sounded like air moving through a hollow pipe, a sound only heard when the a/c was on and when warm air was coming out. There was no unusual pressurized sounds coming out from Tue-Thursday that week.
So I dropped the car off that Friday and picked it up the next day. They supposedly replaced the compressor with an autozone brand since the last one came out of a "kit". Well this worked perfectly again from Mon-Sat and today on the way home I immediately recognized that distinct sound when turning on the a/c and sure enough it stayed blowing warm air.
It's currently in the shop getting tested again, awaiting the results. They're telling me there's a piece under the dash that they don't deal with, but just made me aware of whatever it was called that that could be the culprit.
I know these cars have the biggest pos a/c system ever designed, but has anyone gone through what I'm going through and was it in fact the component under the dash that was giving you issues?
Thanks for any feedback.
