I have no clue since I have not seen it, but I am going to find out. My guess is either coolant or oil

The only reason I would try a bigger idler pulley is because I know it already has strain on it. THis would be just like swapping out any other pulley in the set up. If you find a way to get around the hose let me know. As of right now I will be trying to get the right sized belt and a 3 inch pulley for the idler pulley assembly. This way we will kill two birds with one stone. Hopefully we kill the damn birds and find a way around this problem!

the idler pulley would be a great idea, there isn't any machine shop around here so I can't find one to do it. If you can find a place that can custom one please let us know, I'm not running the k24 c/p yet but I will soon so im preparing for it.

Anyone feel it'd be really nice to get an opinion from Jackson Racing itself? I mean, Oscar Jackson himself always dispenses sage advice in Honda Tuning magazine, so he shouldn't be disinclined to lending a hand to the guys who actually use his flagship product and spread the word. Does someone have a contact at JR whom they might entice to stop by here?

I contacted Keith yesterday and he said it isn't a good idea. About the K24 pulley, I really doubt that they would say it's okay for us to use it, trust me they will say "NO NO NO NO". So when it comes to the k24 pulley, we are on our own.

Maybe I will call them and suggest them to make a bigger idler pulley and see what they will say, but I know I by myself won't really make any influence on this.

I agree, it would be nice to hear from them, but since Oscar sold it he doesn't really work on them anymore. Last I heard he was here in Colorado but a long way away from where I am at and I have no way of getting a hold of him. I would gladely work with him if I could figure out how to get in touch.

I didn't know he sold it. But there must be someone at JRSC who is interested in mingling with potential customers, as Hondata is. Your site here carries a lot of clout and has many people who talk, so peeking in now and then and handing out some advice would be very good for business and reputation.

I think the people inside Jackson that would be willing are just too busy. What ends up happening is they send the info for Doug and myself to share. There are a few issues (like the ones here) that no one has tackled, so I am going to do what I can.

I actually already called them and asked them about the K24 pulley and they were not interested at all. They said that Jackson makes an upgrade pulley kit and that I should buy that instead. I don't think they will be willing to help us out with products that we don't buy from them even if they have potential to make more money just by hearing us out and making a few more parts. I think it is like Chris said they are just too busy. Especially to deal with the little people like us. Now if Chris were to call and notify them who he is and gives them a suggestion they are a lot more likely to hear him out. After all he sells the kits and runs this site, they might think he knows what he is talking about.

I have told them that I have been having problems with the 3" and the K24 cp and they didn't really care. So, I don't think they are going to be real reseptive to working with us and we are just going to have to figure it out on our own. I am back to trying to the K24 cp. I picked up a 53.25" belt and going to give that a try. I will be bypassing the power steering and A/C unit.

How did you find a way to bypass all that? I was looking at it for hours last night and couldn't come up with any route to make things work. There was always something that wasn't going to have enough belt wrap on the pulley..... So even the master had trouble with Jackson wanting to work out something with the K24 pulley? I have a buddy that would love to work something out with you Chris. He can get the pulleys machined for a comparable price to the Jackson pulleys and have them anodized in a few colors, and has taken on the task of trying to find or make this idler pulley and see if we can get this crank pulley working right. He is really great guy and is a total freak when it comes to modifying anything. Just to give you an idea he is working on a Toyota Starlet and he is putting a Lexus V-8 in it. His daily driver is a mini van with a corvette motor in it, and he used to have an MR-2 with a supercharged Pontiac 3800 V-6 motor in it. He doesn't do the normal B16 or 18 swaps, althogh I am sure he can, he likes to get creative. He owns his own business and does some machining and makes his own bushings and other things also. He would be a good guy to have around the board. I would be happy to put you in contact with him Chris if you are interested in talking to him. If not no big deal I understand. Good luck on this and let us know the results.

OK, here is how it all works. It runs around the supercharger pulley under the tensioner to the crank pulley, around that to the water pump, up to the alternator, around the other tensioner back to the supercharger pulley. I can tell you it works and works with great success. I just finished it and it is working with little to know slipage. It took a 53.75" belt to do it and all the customizing I did probably helped a ton. I have some pics that I will post up tomorrow from the top of the motor.

I put it on my Dynapack (yes, still loving to say that) and it was reading 10.17lbs of boost at 7000RPM. For some reason it crapped out at 7500RPM on the first run. A/F is running really bad at 11.5:1 so I am going to have to do some tuning work. Since I couldn't get a full run not sure what the hp is, but I should have a better idea starting Friday when I head back for more tuning.

I would love to hear more from him. I might have been talking with him already, but I have been so busy that ball got dropped. With all this current level of testing, there is a need for custom pulleys on all sides of things.

Here are some pictures that I took yesterday of the little extra fun that I had trying to get my, I will call it stupid, setup working. Just for the record, this is not being driving on the street, only the track, so it will only see limited use. I can tell you that the looks great and is hold on very well. I think by bypassing the power steering and getting more coverage on the SC belt, it really helps prevent the slipping.

Email is the best way (chris@clubrsx.com). I am in and out of the office a lot lately. We have our current business office and the shop and I spend as much time as both as possible.

I don't know whats going on here but last weekend I had 17 passes on the 1/4 with some major burn outs and my car is a daily driver and I have no issues running K24 pulley with 3.4" charger pulley. I run a 2000mm Gates belt and when I first installed it I had the belt drifting across the PS pulley but I took my time tensioning it and have had no issues since and this is the first belt still. I am having a 3.2" pulley made to get to 12psi and that will be my final set up. I did say in the begining that that hose was close to the belt when running K24 but it does clear it.

Chris I liked the bolt modification you did to the tensioners, very handy if you ever strip the hole.

Thanks, it took me 2 days to come up with the idea to fix the problem, and a couple of bolts to work it all out, but it does work very well now.

Remember, I am running a 3" pulley with the K24, so my setup is a little goofy.

I think that k24 + 3" on a K20a will make more than 12 psi, how will you map this as Kpro only goes to 12 psi?
