to be honest rattle can paint job can be surprising. if you ahvea the basic knowlegde about paint, you can make it legit. Its all in the detailing, wetsanding and polishing
I will try this on a new pair of side skits front lip rear bumper and lip. I think if applies correctly and all the right procedures are taken and you use good coasts it will last.
looks like a flat white paint job. was that the intent???
I've read of a magazine doing a flat back rattlecan job on a STI a few years back, but never seen anyone else do it.....interesting to say the least...
good luck with all of the polishing/waxing/buffing
I have seen many people on honda-tech in the 50 dollar paint job thread try to get a decent shine with their rustoleum paint and its tough to really get to shine from all angles-
I did see one guy who did what you did, and sprayed the color coat with spray cans-
but then he used a gun + compressor and sprayed an automotive clear on top of that and it looked awesome-
I just used some touch up spray from PaintScratch and their formula is by far the best I have seen
I have used touch ups from ExpressPaint & AutomotiveTouchUp but it did not have the colormatch or hardness of paintscratch.
I think it's because they mix in Canada, and are not subject to the VOC rules in the U.S., so their paint has a better solvent mixture in it.
I used it to match up a fender flare on my SUV and so far I'm impressed, I'll post a pic here when I have it installed tomorrow.
