why not k24/k20 swap. K20a2 head and k24 block. Its gonna be expensive but the best combination you can get in K-series.

he'll need a k24a1 in order to do the k20a2 head frank. k24a4 from a accord as valve clearance issues. i'd personally rather do a k24 with forged rods, pistons, valves, and more aggressive camshafts and call it a day. it won't rev as high but it'll deliver enormous power quickly within the 7000rpm.

if you really want the best k motor ever, get a k20a type-r motor and mate it with a k24a1, along with aftermarket internal parts. you will have in your possessions, the worse honda weapon that other honda-haters will fear of, the devastating power of i-vtec WITH mad torque. something they'll leave them gasping to the frankstein horror.

if you want the very best, yes. you'll need to get two motors. the k20a is for the rev happy, i-vtec genes. the k24a1 is for the larger displacement, lowered compression ratio genes. the aftermarket internal parts as supplementary steroids. maybe even a stroker kit to up the power of a 2.4L frank to 2.6L. it'll be hell of an engine, and no one cannot laugh or deny the beast that'll sit within your car, underneath the hood that hides it.

i wish make a frank like that with a twin turbo set up in a car like an civic hatch. that would be indescribable of how fast a setup like that would be.

for the lowest cost with boost. i know you're pulling TS' leg but ill follow along. lol
of course, k24a4 is even better because of even more torque and availability.

but for simplicity and the best of the best, get a k20a2 from the junkyard. since there are a lot of dead rsx's over the years, you're bound to find one without much searching.

The K20A hands down. The R engine is the only hand-built and balanced K engine. The A2 is still Japanese, but mass manufactured, not sure about the A3. The K24 engines are all built here in the U.S. I personally prefer Japanese-built engines for tolerance/quality reasons. Start with that, then when you want more power, swap in a K24 bottom end (built or not). That is what I plan to do.

If you want to start with a frankenstein, it wouldn't be worth getting a K20A just to take it apart. Use a K20A2, Z1, or Z3 head. The K20A tranny is geared so low(or high whatever you want to call it), it isn't good for high power, so even a 5-speed would be better for a frank setup. Use whatever comes with your K24.
