All depends on what shot and how often. Actual your car will last for quite a long time unless you crash it. It's your motor you should worry about.

I made a post asking and have done many searches on other forums and have not found one case where something was messed up that was not user error. o, like they said, if you are smart about it there are no consequences.

would running a turbo or supercharger strain your engine more since it is on boost all the time? Or is it ok as long as you keep it at low rpms most of the time?

cramming hot compressed air into your engine will affect the life of your engine. intercooled it will help prolong it. most SC and TC cars that are properly setup will last a long time. my miata had over 110,000 miles turbocharged on it although only 20k was with the turbo on it. i've seen plenty with a lot more on it. it's all about management and user setup.
