So I had a little money race I needed to take care of, against a modded Syclone...anyway we threw on my buddies NX Wet kit in about a hour or so...and headed to the local 1/4 mile...Did a couple highway test pulls w/ the 75 shot n2o (41 maybe?) and fuel jets, felt good, ran horribly rich though...so we changed the n2o jet only to the 100 shot (52 i think it was) and kept the fuel jet as is, and went down the track. STILL ran off the scales rich, but I ran 12.6 @ 113 w/ a passenger and a bit of a delayed 3-4 shift (costing me I'm sure .3) anyway...the motor took it like a champ, no knock until 5th then just a tad (under 20 counts) even w/ 33 deg of ignition on the STOCK PLUGS. Note: I was running 100 oct fuel
I was impressed and have decided to keep the kit and get some colder plugs and tune for a 125 shot.
In short I'm pretty impressed w/ a motor that can take 100ish shot w/ 11.5:1 compression and still running the stock plugs. I know it might sound like we were really taking a chance but given where the A/F was and that we got no knock through 8K in 5th w/ the 75 shot we felt it would be fine.
The 60 ft is pretty weak. Guys have hit 1.8 on those hoosier street legal radials? I think with your crazy ass setup you would at least hit a 1.7 on full out race slicks?
The slicks I was using and the psi they were at (22x8x15 @ 11psi) were too much tire for my car, I was launching @ 8.8K and bogging to 4.3K which means I wasn't spraying until I could get the revs back to 6K, which KILLED my 60' times.. Straight up on the motor I could only cut 2.2s and I go 2.0 all day on street tires...next time I'm gonna run them at like 14-15 psi and hopefully take a little bit of contact area off the ground.

Type R transmission. Different gear ratios. Also it's already explained, he didn't hit 8k in 5th on the 1/4 mile. He does need to shift into 5th gear in order to finish the 1/4 mile though. The 8k in 5th was some testing he did on the freeway. Not the safest thing to do, but oh wells.

why don't you guys back up off warmpepsi and alpha. thy have been doing this shit alot longer than you probably have. and all there trying to do is clear up the truth.

Lol, dude, you talk so much s hit on this board, and you didn't even take the time to read. Maybe you should man up and apologize for being such an ass to the dude because you didn't notice he had a K20A with the proper tranny and not a K20A2 with the Type S tranny.

I actually do have a type R tranny, and the speeds are a little off. Not a lot. Either way, I never was trying to hate on him. just trying to get more info, because his setup is very nice (as in highly dangerous. the way I like it).
