It was not grounded good at first and was spraying weird. I have now switched it around abit and got good electrical volts - I am fixing to check the plugs after spraying last night and I am going to put in a little larger fuel jet while I am at it. All the plugs were the same color.
yeah but it shouldn't be enough to where you need to worry about it.
it's better than detonating your whole engine. it's major wear and tear.
are your plugs about 2 degrees colder than stock? just keep on checking them. it's a pain in the ass but it's better than blowing the motor.
i'd say run a larger fuel plug and keep the n20 plug the same. you will be running richer but there isn't much harm that can come from it.
also some octane booster might help a little. the higher octane you can get the better. you will avoid detonation better then and the ECU will probably advance the timing back so you should pick up a good power gain.
gl with it. keep me posted. im still not 100% positive if i want to run it in the S. i did in the miata for a year before i went turbo but that engine is built to handle boost and higher HP #'s.
Well, I have bad news and good news; the bad - 14.18@100.31, the good; 60 ft = 2.42
What does that mean? There is alot of room for gains. If you are spraying, you must have awesome tires to hook up - otherwise it is a joke! You all know that I can drive decently - but I have to play with the launch some more and wait on the tires. I only had one decent launch but it was still a 2.36 and then my wheel jerked. I have some weird camber on one of my wheels. I will be getting some better tires of Friday and might have time to get to the track Friday night, but if not, you have to wait another week to see the results. Sorry I did not post last night - I was too tired, my friend drove me home. I will do alot of tuning and give it another try!
Anybody have any stock spark plugs they want to get rid of?
I knew there was something wrong when you didn't post last night. You are not the type of guy to keep good news from us. Anyways, I hope you get better at it with the new tires and I hope to see you next friday at the track.
I'm not surprised. N20 is hard to hook up. My best time with my prelude was 13.89 @ 102. I found my best times were launching hard w/o N20 and after the suspension settled, I hit the N20. If I engaged N20 too early, I would get crazy wheel hop and have to back off resulting in a bad time. My most consistent results came from dumping the clutch at 3-4K RPM. The engine would bog and hit the N20 but then I would get only 14.0 - 14.1 @ 101.
Just give me time  I am working on it as we speak - when I first fan my car I was in the mid 15's and that has went down gradually as I learned the car. Now I have changed the dynamics of the car and it like learning to drive it all over again, but harder. Now I have these pre-conceived ideas about how it should be and have to overcome those. By pattern, I should be able to shave off close to a second off that time, but I really think 13.4-13.5 is reachable within a couple of months. I expect 13.7 with some consistency within a few weeks.
I remember when I got 14.98 I was so excited - then 14.67, and last night I broke 100 in the trap - I will be very happy again when I see 13's to go with that.
