Can't figure this one out.. i hope you guys can help me:
car: 02 ep3 - Zex wet kit, 75 shot.
problem: everytime i drive the car a have to reset the "purple box" or main brain of the unit.
you suposse to do this only once so the box will learn the WOT. or you have to re-doit every time you disconect the battery.
in my case i'll spray maybe 4-5 times and then this will quit working. i have to stop and reset the "Nitrous Management unit" (purple box) all over again.
i checked all my wiring, and my TPS signal, all checked out good: .5 V and 4.5V at WOT
idk what the fuck what else to look for. i called the Zex 1-800 number and they didnt know what to tell me except to check all my wiring again... they told me those Units even work or they dont... so know im just lost....
anybody heard of this problem before? im about to buy a new box and give that a try.... any idea guys?
As for M3Dc5. ..can you please put more detail on what you are asking about because I just read that question and I have no idea what you meant ..so its kinda hard for me to give you my .02...
hey guys, so i have a 02 base auto, gay i know, i wish it was 5 speed. anyways i was thinking about running a nos system, but am just starting to get into the mechanics and stuff so i have some pretty rookie questions. by no means am i buying the system, installing and go. i need to look into everything first. so i read that you cant run it with hondata reflash? what is that.
my rsx is pretty much stock besides the basics ( intake, headers, exhaust) so what are the settings, requirements, all that stuff so that i can run the system without harming my engine. i have read the F&Q but still don't understand a few things.
thanks
If you're wanting to run a dry shot, you're going to need Kpro to add fuel through the injectors. With just a 75 shot, you can put a wet kit on it and pretty much call it a day. If you want to up the shot, you're going to need Kpro to pull timing and what not.
like K20egcw said...wet shot is the best way to go ...it wont even hurt you if you do a 75 shot with no tune[people have done it] i ran with 100 shot with no tune since february and just started mess with it 2 weeks ago with flashpro[retard timing to 4 degree] since i got it for a dirt cheap price on craigslist[$300]
spark plug you will need
Ngk spark plug Part Number:NGK-BKR8EIX
I think if I had an RSX I would put a gym bag in the truck, put the bottle in the bag (bolted to the floor) with a remote bottle opener. Then just keep the bag zipped up and it would look like you just have a bag in the back lol
its not a bad price but i would look around to see if any place is cheaper then that laying around..are you going to spray wet or dry? what shot are you looking to spray?
Quick Question: what would happen when you are spraying and then the bottle is empty? spray just fuel and run rich? or will not spray? you cant really tel when the bottle is almost empty while on the car...
it will bog and fuel will be spray into the throttle body/intake manifold which will cause the car to run slower..get a psi gauge and you should be fine..once the psi drop around 600 then all you need is to heat the bottle up and it will get around 900ish psi .. i empty my bottle when it reach 400psi without it heated up[time for a refill]
somebody correct me if im wrong, but if your running kpro and it does only feed gas instead of both gas and nitrous wont kpro cut it off? lean out? but if your running stock ecu...i have no idea on that
all kpro know is when to turn it on and off and whatever fuel adjustment you made and retard timing when nitrous is active at it rpm..it doesnt detect if something is wrong with the nitrous system..the nitrous will keep spraying whatever it is suppose to do. empty bottle or noids being mess up or loose line..it will still spray one of them...its a give or take..
it will lean out but just hope it doesnt lean out to the max so once you feel the nitrous bog then that give you a sign that either the bottle is empty or the noids give out or you need to check the lines ...

blow down tube question...... do i need one??? i see alot of guys not running them, but then again i see some to, also what do i need to hook one up to my bottle? because i see some online but its just a 8an female adapter with a tube coming off, im running a nitrous express bottle and it does look like it will hook up because i would need some type of male adapter to go inside the bottle then a male out to hook up to the female blow down tube, any info please???
honestly this setup probably wont see the track and be 100% street use and if i do ill get the blow down tubes then if thats possible, i mean i have a pressure gauge in my dash so i can monitor the nitrous pressure 24/7 so do you think i really have the option of needing one? because if the pressure gauge goes too high a beeping noise occurs and the whole gauge starts flashing so i can easily cut the warmer off, plus i have the nitrous warmers that if them temp gets too high it auto cuts the warmers off
Just a general nitrous question. Talking to some v8 guys and they said the general rule of thumb is pull 1-1.5 degrees of timing for every 50 whp of nitrous. I understand tuning is necessary even after generalities but is that a good rule to start off by and if so, would that just apply to those guys or all types of motors ? Also is that just 1-1.5 across the whole rev range that you are using nitrous or is there generally need more pulled in a certain area?
that is indeed true, some even say up to 2 degrees. i would think it would be in the range u are sparaying in and a prob a lil more at vtec crossover..now i have a q myself...im confused where exactly im tapping for running nitrous through kpro..in pin out diagram pdf that is attached for kpro is it the 24 pin connector "B" ? and can i use a t-splice thing or should i cut the wire and solder all 3 wires together? would much prefer to use the t-tap things cause its much easier a picture would be greatly appricated
Some questions i plan on running between a 75-100 wet shot, i have full bolt ons minus the head i also have k-pro with a magnesium tune and rdx injectors. First off should i or will i need bigger injectors and second should i get my car dyno tuned, if i get bigger injectors i will be getting it tuned anyways!
You only need larger injectors if you're running a dry system. You'll be fine with your RDX injectors and a wet kit. I would also get tuned on the bottle since you already have Kpro, might as well use it lol
Trying to safely run 100whp dry shot but cyl 4 runs too hot. Is it just too big for dry and need direct port at this point? The jet is installed right at the base of the rubber injen elbow (about 6" away from tb)--Im also thinking I have it too close to the tb so would moving it further down help the atomization process any more or am I basically stuck?
I just run stock plugs with my 55 shot. Just picked up some 41/24 jets the other day, and I plan to use the same plugs a well
