I have a RSX base model and I already installed a intake and exhaust, I am thinking about getting a header but when asking a mechanic they always tell me it?s a waste of money and that what I have installed already is enough and if I do anymore upgrades I will damage the engine. Is this true? and if I do install a header, will it improve my gas mileage, horsepower, and overall performance of the engine?
It makes it sound cooler, the HP will be negligible. Sometimes the HP gains will just move to higher RPM, so for the street its not a big deal. If you like to do stuff to your car, then do it. I had a check engine light and got a Hondata with a header tune, and for the life of me, I can't say I can feel a difference. My gas mileage shot up and my CEL light is now off, so I'm good.
