K Tuned shifter, install idea

so i have a big pile of parts just waiting to be installed once it warms up outside (canada problems, -25 today with the wind chill)

im looking for some examples of installs people have done. seems like a shame to hide it under the console and shifter boot. but our cars look like hell without the centre console or boot on. any ideas are welcome. im currently leaning towards cutting a section out of both sides of the centre console and putting lexan in. but in my mind it seems kinda ricey to do that.

my idea is to make a piece of acrilyc or lexan with the shape of italian gearbox like this:

its just an old b18b cam i had laying around. combine that with a lathe and a tap and voila.... shift knob lol. i have a set of k20z3 cams here i may hack up and make a few vtec versions of these. and thats not a bad idea fatso666.

Proper term for that is "gated shifter." Just an FYI.

I saw a guy on facebook i think cut out the centre section for the shifter and it was awful. either all or nothing IMO. but ive always thought a gated shifter instead of our shift boot would look nice

Anyone gone through with any of these ideas? Think I'm going to try the "gated plexiglass" idea
