yeah I'm not really sure how I feel about AP1 vs AP2. The AP1 sounds more raw, AP2 sounds a bit easier to live with. If it were going to be my only car I would defiantly go for an AP2(well really probably wouldn't be looking at an S2000..lol)

If you can try and find a good one where the owner is in a situation where they have to sell it then you can probably get if for a good price.
the inspected by a private party thing is gonna be a pain since everything is hundreds or thousands of miles away..lol

What are your ultimate goals? I sometimes regret dumping so much money on a new ap2 when an ap1 would have done the job just as good.

Ap2 is much more refined. Also 07 up have a shift delay. (I believe that's what its called.)

that's lame..I hate shift delay..lol

ultimate goal is to pretty much leave it alone and have fun driving it around. There will be no turbo kits..lol.

the thing I'm wondering is that AP1s and AP2s seem to make roughly the same peak power but the from the looks of the dynos the AP1 holds it for another 1000 rpms, so doesn't that make it more flexible when you are beating it senseless on a back road or something? lol

so far my two favs are the blue AP1 and the silverstone AP2

http://www.ebay.com/itm/350576402611...84.m1423.l2649

http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13405476848011

they are close in price but the blue one is from a dealer with a lot of good feedback and the AP2 is just from some private party seller

ebay automatically gives you up to 50k in protection if there is something seriously wrong with the car(over $1000) so I'm not that scared of the private party one, but the AP1 has a best offer option so the price will probably come down a bit more. My fiancee hates the blue also so that's a problem since we are going to be sharing the cars

Imo for just fun daily driving ap1 and ap2 will work the same for ya. If youre looking to go competitive with tracking the car then dig deeper into the process

Cliffs: you're over analyzing this. Lol.

thats exactly the difference. AP1 is much more raw, almost like barebone type of car. AP2 they made it a little easier to drive and live with day to day.

IMO it sounds like a AP2 would be better for you, if your honestly just going to leave it alone for the most part. The AP2 also makes a little more torque, which does make a difference. I test drove a AP1 and i could tell a difference... But that could also be because of the gearing. I think you should go and test drive both around you. See which you like better then go from there.

Mine was an 06, and i loved it. I had a 400hp turbo rsx, the s2, a 03 wrx, and now an is300. And out of all the cars, the s2 was the funest to drive. The rsx was by far faster, but around corners the s2 just felt like it was on rails. Better then the subaru.

*EDIT* I should probably say that if i were to get another s2k, I wouldnt mind having either AP1 or 2. Whichever i could find a better deal on would be the one i would get lol. But it also wouldnt be my only car again

i think if the silverstone ap2 works out we will go for that, otherwise we will probably end up with an AP1 because the dealer AP2's are too expensive, I don't really care, they both sound good to me. Test driving one is gonna be a problem though. Would have to drive 100 miles to do it.

The good news is that these cars keep their resale value, even more than other Hondas. If all goes wrong and you hate the car, you can get rid of it without losing much (if any) money.

yeah that's what I was thinking. Although if I buy it on ebay I'll probably lose the shipping. Also tax, title, reg..ftl so probably 2000-2500 right off the bat

the civic hasn't dropped in value too much assuming someone is willing to pay 11k for one...idk about that

went out to measure and quickly realized it really is no use giving you numbers. but here is one: about 45-47 inches from the seat back to the gas pedal.

reason why numbers are useless: my legs are already 5+ inches past the steering wheel but they just stay splayed out to the side to allow adequate clearance. like i said earlier, it really is comfortable for me, i have my seat setup like i am at the track (which i never go to)

Downside is the included freight train from the picture. Hope your drive-way is long enough.

idk its ok, I like the older light blue better

really still like this one the best I think, but it's private party on ebay and it seems like the loan company linked to ebay charges you a $748 loan fee(WTF?)

I personally like this one too, but the blue interior is a bit much and teh fiancee hates it..lol

well this was a fun idea but I think I'm gonna hold off. loans for private party cars are a pain in the ass(they seem to have fees on top of the interest), to actually get the car I want the price is getting out of hand. I think getting a high mileage AP1 for cash in a couple years is more likely at this point..failz

maybe a project miata? lol

No downside to flashpro. I have it. You'll enjoy spending 600-700 for an ecu. It's a piggy back
