plm sidewinder manifold fitment

i have a plm side winder turbo manifold and a turbonetics custom .82 ar turbo. it all fits on the car but the way it all sits the end of the turbo that goes to the intercooler is too close to let my shifter linkage move forward. if anybody else has had this problem or a similar problem how would you advise on fixing it. i took the manifold to get cut and weld the flange at an angle but the guys at the shop i took it too said it would leak the way its shaped. personally i just think the dude who was gunna do it was too lazy to figure it out

different shop? you dont have very many options. either cut/modify the header, get a different turbo, or get a different header.
