Replacing Pillow Ball bearing in coilover with spherical bearing

Hey all,

The pillow balls are toast on my coilovers, and rather than pay the ridiculous markup on the megan pillowballs, I figured i could source the bearing myself. I have access to various bearing pullers and presses, so I am not too worried about the actual work involved.

I located a bearing like this, and im curious to know if it will be durable enough.

The sizing is off, but you get the idea.

Has anyone done this before?

It has been done. You just need to get the right one. That is probably the hardest part. I've been looking for the right bushing for the rear bottom bushing on the shock for the RSDs for some time now.

Try www.fkrodends.com or Q1Arodends. both of these companies work with us in the offroad racing world so low and slow should not be an issue. Contact them online with what you will need and more than likely they will have it or can make it. Just remember the good ones aren't cheap for a reason and stay away from any of the bronze/iolite lined ones they get noisy very quick.
