I believe my second gear or second gear syncro may have bit the dust. I can put it in second but sounds chunky and vibrates. Crazy thing is I wasn't even beating on it. Drove to the gym and it was fine. Came out and bam second gear started making some crazy sounds.

^ interesting... Experienced it again? Have you changed your transmission fluid? Thinking may be worth a shot

Yeah does it every time I shift into second. Sounds like the gears aren't meshing together right. Going to change fluid and check for metal as soon as I get some time. Drove it yesterday just skipping 2nd and it was fine. It's just annoying to ride first out to 4k and then shift to 3rd at 1.5-2k

Its just weird cuz it shifts into 2nd fine it's just chunky once you let off the clutch and start driving in second. Then the way it happened was weird too. Didn't beat on my car or anything. Drove to the gym everything was fine left the gym and it was acting up.

Hopefully fluid change fixes it... No grinding right

Heading off to D.C. area for work... Didn't get to work on the cars as I hoped. I did remove a ton of water out of the Mazda3 door and wetvac the rear as water got in during the hurricane

Finally thinking about getting the AEM Uego...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N3...o+wideband+kit

This is the one I believe most folks run and requires no open air calibration, correct? I'll probably bypass connecting it to kpro as it will only support datalogging. The primary O2 sensor will still provide AFR readings to kpro and this is more as a failsafe so I'm aware if I get too rich or lean since I don't ride around with a laptop everyday.

Changed the trans fluid today and had zero metallics in the fluid. Pretty sure the 2nd gear syncro is bad. If I'm at a stop and go to put it into second it'll grind..... and continue to grind the whole time you're in second

Yeah I'm pretty sure I remember reading that's the open air calibration sensor. I have a carbon fiber autometer wideband in my car.

Also found a guy that will rebuild my trans for 200, I need 2nd and 3rd synchros, is there anything else that is recommended. Do I need the gears too or should just synchros be fine?

Thanks! From this article is where I thought it didn't require open air calibration: https://www.google.com/amp/s/10carbe...and-gauges/amp

For your transmission, that's a good sign with no metallic shavings in the oil. It's hard to tell until it's opened up. One recommendation would be to check the diff bearings.

I'm realizing today I have some maintenance to do on the RSX... It's getting hot w/ AC on and starts overheating... Temps drop when I take the AC off, so I assume there is still air bubbles in the system

Yes that's the right unit. The gauge comes pre calibrated with its controller built into it and its own O2 sensor. I recommend that you unplug the OEM sensor and install the AEM unit as your primary sensor. All you will need to do is run the gauge’s ground wire to the engine block, provide a 12v power source to it, next connect the remaining wires to Kpro using one of the pigtails that was shipped with your Kpro. Its that easy. Last thing you will need to is go into Kmanager and change the O2 sensor setting. To help you out, when you get ready to do is install one I will take some pictures of my setup including the ECU wiring.

Cool... I'll see if I still have said pigtails. If I don't have to splice wires, I'll be for running it to kpro (I have v3). I'll probably buy one in the next few months

Sorry my mistake. For easy installation you need Kpro v4. If I remember correctly that was one of the advantages v4 had over v3. I believe it $270 to upgrade v3 to v4.

So I just stumbled upon this: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.ph ... r+boundary

I'm trying the closed loop change recommended (change 87kPa to 102kPa) to see if that improves gas mileage. I'll keep my VTEC (lower and upper) at 98kPa for now, but I'm interested in reading your VTEC engagement settings.

Right now, I'm set at the following:

Lower Boundary = 3200rpm @ 98kPa
Upper Boundary = 5200rpm @ 98kPa

I was thinking about changing lower to 3500rpm since I cruise around ~3200rpm on the hwy. I thought this meant I cruising in high cam all the time, but this may not be the case.

After more digging, I'm going to try lower = 3000rpm @ 98kPa and upper = 5000rpm @ 87kPa...

The kPA is what I'm interested in reading for what you guys have set on the upper boundary. It's not clear to me as see various S/C kals with it set the same kPa and others with lower at 98kPa and upper at a lower kPa (e.g., 24, 50, 87, and even 90)???

Morning gents

So I tweaked my tune a bit and learning my foot is heavier than I thought. Currently at 180 miles right under 1/2 tank. I guess wanting to spray to keep intake temps down is no bueno for mpgs lol

im lucky to get 180 miles on a full tank. count yourself lucky. maybe i need to upgrade my kpro v3 to v4 and get it rewired to use my aem uego. then def would get re-tuned by someone different than the last place.

replaced my exedy stage 1 with an action stage 3 and action lightweight flywheel. shortly after the clutch started feeling "loose" meaning not taking a lot work to press it. hard parked her in the garage for the last month. finally got around to diagnosing the problem and it ended up being the k-tuned slave cylinder with a bad o-ring. replaced it with a civic unit and its back to brand new.

k-tuned is on my shit list now.

Lol... Normally get 180-200 per tank. Biggest change for me was driving style to get to 250. Staying out of boost and being light on the throttle was key. It was too much work being cautious like that, so I'm just glad to see it can be done.

I think if you upgrade, go v4. I have v3 and you can't run Uego with that version. For clutches, CSC, CMCs I dealt with that years back. Did all OEM except for running the exedy organic clutch w/ no complaints.

Morning

Cooler weather starting up... Still high 70s-80s here in FL, but I'm heading to west coast and see low 30s at night

same here in california. we are getting some colder nights. my tune does not like colder weather, its not compensating enough for the 60* temps, and my fuel system is already maxed out. I'm working on a fuel return system to free up some injector duty cycle and add more fuel

So pretty much everyone here knows MercRacing; we are trying to setup a group buy for a MercRacing fuel rail. the details are below. these fuel rails are a limited production so this is the chance to get one (who knows when there will be another batch)

"Looking to set up a group buy for MercRacing fuel rails. We need 10 people to commit to put the order through.

Those interested should email Jose at jmercado@mercracing.net

Pricing for a batch of 10 would be $250 SHIPPED per rail. Those in Canada will be looking at a little extra to compensate.

He'll send you an invoice, which will be refunded if the 10 piece minimum is not met."
