NT customs, was just wondering, so is it required to have a ground when using the OEM switch? I think that might be the problem with my harness, the person I bought it off of on here said it was OEM, but i dont know, the OEM button does fit, but does the OEM harness come with a ground on the switch harness? It didn't say anything about it in the installation process.

Do you think I have to open my harness and make the ground myself? shouldn't be a big deal.

Just curious as to why you soldered everything instead of using spade terminals.

the ground is used for the illumination part of the OEM switch. you could open yours up, shouldn't be too hard.

Ok so I have an aftermarket fog light and I got the OEM switch. Where can I tap into for the (+) positive for the illumination? I only want it to illuminate when the interior is illuminated.

i hooked up mine to the illum wire on the sunroof button. since my harness is one of the ones that stays illuminated all the time. and it works just like it should. it is the second wire from the bottom i think it red with a black strip but test it first to be sure.

little off topic but i got a question
i want to mount a rocker switch for some CCFLS under the dash in the spot next to the sunroof button. i'm not sure how to go about actually mounting the switch there though, any suggestions?

I can't tell which is the top and bottom on your switch, prong 5, is this at the top or bottom of the switch?

get a voltmeter to test it so you don't solder the wrong thing

Wow thank you so much. I follow my instinct and just did this to what I was told was an "OEM" harness (it turned out to be just a clusterfuck of who knows what), well like we were talking about I grounded those two wires and EVREYTHING works flawlessly.
The switch lights up when on and the fog lights actually work now lmao. Thanks a lot man. I should have done this long ago just never got the courage up lmao. But honestly this was really simple.

wtf? my cruise button and sunroof button don't illuminate... never did. The green light works perfectly fine on the cruise button, but for some reason the illumination doesn't. I wonder why? Should I take the car back to Acura or is there an easy fix for that? Does anyone know what could cause both of them not to illuminate?

NT Customs: A friend of mine and I followed your DIY all the way through and got the fogs working, so +rep to you and thanks! Any help with the cruise and sunroof buttons not illuminating would be greatly appreciated!!

do you know of a way to bypass the switch so that you can turn your fogs on without turning on the headlights?
