Electric shorts in k swap

Swapping ep3 into 01 civic with 06 type s trans I wana go kpro with a new ecu comes out to around $1300 is there anyway this ecu could fry on initial start of the swap? Don’t wana spend the money and it fry. Any feedback would be great. Running a tucked k series harness, is there anyway these could both short or fry? Very paranoid with electricity. Thanks
