it does work. you just have to keep trying. make sure you do everything exactly the way it tells you, and you have to do it fast. have someone else help by turning the ignition on or something if it helps.

but.. it DOES work

Please dont PM me about why your SRS did not clear. Most of the time, you are doing it wrong, doing it too slow, or you PULLED the wrong plug.
sorry bout the PM dude... but thanks for the advice though...

No joke, I have tried it 10 times on my friend's rsx, and about 30 times (no lie) on my own. I always see it blink once, then that m*therf*cker comes back on and stays on. WTF

Iluvferrari has been a little shit in the past
It works. I had to do it yesterday because I pulled out my seats and turned on the car. It took me a few tries at different speeds but it worked.

not my fault guys. If you guys cant do it, take it to the dealers. Please do not PM or IM me about it. I will simply ignore your messages.

This is a DIY guide to help you but im not a live tech support. Plus im sure i have mostly ALL the information needed to do the reset.. simple as that.

thanks again and if i sound like an ass, it was not my intension. Just judge this from my view, you will understand.

thanks ksmatic. it works perfect. here are a few pointers.......

1.) TIMING IS KEY. as everyone mentioned, make sure to plug in and pull the paper clip out with the flashing of the SRS light
2.) remove and insert the paper clip COMPLETELY. i was rushing it and i didnt pull the paper clip out all the way and let the tips rest on the yellow plug which is enough to maintain the connection.

i had my SRS light on for months and i finally got off my ass to do this DIY... what can i say it worked like a charm... at first it would blink once and stay on but i had a feeling it was the timing after reading this thread... you really got to wait 4 seconds after pulling out in out.... GREAT DIY... oh yea you really got to find a comfortable position when doing this so you can pull the paper clip in and out and watch the SRS light at the same time

Thanks man, i was tryin it for a while and the shit didnt work. So i came across your post and gave it a try this way. Took a few tries to get the timing down but it worked like a charm. Now light is off

I know basically nothing about cars, but I registered on this forum for the sole reason of thanking KSMatic for this post. I just failed my VA inspection today b/c of my SRS light being stuck on. It came on after the battery on my '97 Acura CL completely drained on me.

It was going to cost $86 for the dealership to just run diagnostics on it so I thought I would do a little searching for a DIY method and I found this post.

I got it to work on the first try. Thank you so much!

before i finally was able to reset the light myself, i called the dealer to find out the cost of reseting the light and i was told $50+tax so $100 seems like a rip off....
