keep the base and save money for next down payment on future car. if you plan to keep an rsx for a while then do a trade. look into what mods you would also do, as far as exterior, so you dont buy the wrong year and make a new thread asking if you switch switch between the 2 generations

ALMOST at 100k

hey CRSX im almost at 100k in my base and have big plans for the car. Im a little too low on cash to purchase a new car and enjoy the rsx just fine. I am considering either boosting the 100k motor or swapping not sure though to swap a2 or a2 head and k24 bottom. let me know what you guys think i should do guys and whats cheaper in the long run. i know swapping means new tranny new ECU yadi yadi yada but let me have your in put thanks.

If you dont care then please dont post i just need the rsx families input.

no, vtec is the same, it kicks in at a certain rpm. in the k there is the addition of vtc which is completely different, has to do with intake/exhaust valve overlap and is continuously varied by the ecu.

New to forums. RSX question.

Alright so after two years of looking at cars that I would like to buy the time has come to buy one. I have decided on the RSX. I have always loved this car since I first saw it introduced.

Now for the questions.

1. What year RSX Auto & Manual tranny, and engine is the best? I have an impression 2002 thus far from reading.
2. Is the Type-S built better than the base model RSX not including engine & tranny?
3. How many miles can you look to get out of these cars if you baby it? I take care of the things I own, and will with this car.
4. If I ever wanted to turbo it. Is it pointless to turbo a base model RSX?
5. Is there a noticeable difference in the base model power as far as Auto/Manual tranny go? Is manual faster then the auto?
6. What are the most common issues that one deals with owning an RSX? Common things that go out etc.

7. The BIG question. Do you all really enjoy your ride? It will be my first purchase of a car I actually WANT to own in 8 years. I am excited about this car but need to know which one I should end up in.

I am willing to spend 12-13k

I could ask a million more questions but that is all I will for now. Thanks for providing these forums and thank you in advance for your answers.
-Matthew

i'll let someone answer 1-6, but for question 7..

i love my rsx, its a great car..reliable and good mpg. However, it's quick, but certainly not fast.

For wanting to spend 12-13k I'd say that its a great choice.

1. They're all pretty much the same.
2. Quality? No. Performance? Yes. Like stated above, there are some other features the Type S has, but quality is all the same.
3. Lots... COuple guys on here have over 200k.
4. No, but if you're planning on going turbo, you might as well just soend the extra on a Type S.
5. Not sure about this too much, but the manual will be a little quicker than auto im pretty sure.
6. Just wait for some of the dash rattles and sometimes the window clip breaks.
7. I love it.

Wanna buy my 5 speed? 77k on it...
