I would love to but I cant afford a hit and miss situation. Need to know 100%

So, I just want to make sure, do you or do you not have to replace the front sway bar to install the header on an 05-s? Also, does anyone have any dyno's of before and after with this header. Thanks Jacob

The stock sway won't fit. A 2001 Civic EX coupe sway bolts rght up and gives you enough clearance.

Here was a good thread where I got all my info from: http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=339509

Good link. There's a post on there that answers sMk_DC5's question.

So that's a substantial difference right there, plus the fact that the TypeR is running a true 4-2-1 setup with longer primaries. It's worth it to swap the ITR header and cat out if you're still running the stock TypeS setup. I even passed emissions with it at the local Honda dealer.

So I'm curious, Do the 05-06 Type-S have these ITR headers/cams/cat/exhaust? Or are the ITR's an improvement from the 05-06 Type-S.

Allright, so I have an '05 Type-s. So all I would need to do this is the manifold and the cat? I don't need a different midpipe? Also, are the gains worth it? Im guessing they are more noticeable than a shorty header and hi flow cat. This seems like a good idea, the manifold itself is only $294, so all I need to find is the cat, none of the sites listed have that cat.

Yeah, only manifold and cat and front sway required for the DC5.

Get the cat used from one of the motor importers, the couple I talked to said swaps usually go race header so there's a few of these around.

nope. itr>z1
they both have similar (02-04 ITR), almost identical cams, different headers/cat, same b-pipe, but different axleback

Here's the story on the studs:

Conclusion: find one with good studs or pay very little for it because there will be a repair bill.

thanks for the thread 05silversi! It helped me out a lot. I got a killer deal on the ITR header and wanted to stay legal since i'm in Cali. Had to rethread the 4-2 bolts with a die, but it all turned out great. It was worth the install time and the gains are noticible. With just an injen cold air and hondata#4 flash I could feel the gains in the mid-range and top end. Engine starts to roar past 3k and just sounds mean through the powerband.

Yeah, really fattens up the mid-range torque which is what the 4-2-1 is supposed to be good for.

Test drove a 07 Si the other day and frankly was a little dissapointed -- I want the LSD and the roar up top was music, but my a3 with only this header and a gutted stock airbox pulls stronger thru the midrange.

I bought 7900rpms 2-1 ITR cat and found a 4-2 header elsewhere, swapped it in for my DC race header and honestly, I don't think the car is any slower. Slightly less flow up top it seems, but you get better low end now, at least thats what it feels like. Anyhow, for those who might have problems with the studs, my 4-2 was missing one stud, I just went to advance auto and got a 12mmx1.25 bolt that was 2" long. Some washers and another 12mmx1.25 nut. Worked perfect! Cost me about 4$.
