So I was at a Ford dealer Sunday looking at Super Dookies (I like trucks) and I noticed a white Mustang inside the showroom. It had a big blue stripe with "427R" at the top of it. So I'm thinking it has a 427 cubic inch engine in it, naw...still the 4.6L with a blower.

Should it be labeled as a 427R? Not in my opinion. Nothing on it that is 427.

ford is supposed to debut a new 5.0 dohc v8 code named tornado or some such, and a TT V6 for the stang as well.

either way ford has waaay too many 'special'/'collectors' etc models, i got lost with the last couple dozen, cobra, cobra R, mach 1, shelby gt500, roush, 357/427/594/323/blah blah blah i lost track of them all.

just make ONE or TWO 'special' models and STICK WITH THE SAME NAMES, fuck. like the ford five hundred/taurus identity crisis shit.

frankly at this point i stubbornly take any new mustang as any other mustang out there, n/a V6, s/c'd V8 blah blah blah; too much shit to keep track of.

Ford didn't make that car. Roush did. Ford only makes a few specialty models and the turn-key race versions (which are actually finished by Multimatic). Not Ford's fault the cars have enough popularity for people to buy whatever version they want. Been like this for decades too, get over it.

im not angry at ford, dont give a flying fuck about any manufacturer, i stated an opinion and you seem to think that warrants an e-argument. same with gm and 5 'clone' models across their fleet. if i was considering a mustang, doesnt really matter to ford if i go with a roush or a mach 1; they still only make 1 sale, and have a second that i didnt choose in inventory (whether theirs or a dealers); same mistake gm has made in the past.

a buddy of mine had an 07 427r, which was a badass ride. it got stolen, and he picked up an 09 429r... even better car, his is 1 of 6 made in the particular color scheme/package. the 429r is amazing, its smooth (for what it is), provides plenty of feedback, fast, handles well, and is all under warantee.

personally, i dont like the 2010 mustangs, they are getting too smooth, with no feedback. I can picture the 2010 similar to my buddies 09, just watered down a little.

Different reasons... he is a fanboy, has proved it repeatedly, and would likely admit it. But he'll throw that term out there to describe anyone who doesn't agree that domestic cars are the best... regardless of whether he knows what he's talking about or not.

Sure and I can comb through yours posts to find you jumping on somebody's case for every implied criticism of an import. Thing here is YOU are trying to make an argument here where none existed in your pathetic attempt to feel self-righteous. It wouldn't have mattered if it was Ford, GM, Honda, or Nissan were the subject matter the point is that having so many versions and variations either from the OEM or private parties is a demonstration of the strength of a given brand and architecture. The Mustang enjoys more aftermarket support than ANY other car, that is indeed a fact. If that chafes your sorry ass then that is your problem but don't try to invent an argument here to make yourself feel better.

And his point was that there are too many versions of the Mustang to keep track of. It doesn't matter who builds them if the OEM allows such proliferation of nearly identical products that it confuses customers. Ford lets Roush and other companies build off their platforms and sell them at their dealerships... so it's not like it's pure aftermarket.

Not sure I agree with him, but he has a point that did not warrant the bullshit you responded with. LOL at saying he doesn't have any business sense when he's making the accurate argument that consumers are confused by proliferation.

And again, LOL at me being pro-import. Which country am I a fanboy of? Or am I just anti-domestic? I've owned American, German, Japanese, and Swedish cars.

:rotfl: And who is being confused? The average buyer is only going to look at the 3 models Ford produces (V6, GT, GT500) of which only two would really be any consideration. The enthusiast buyer certainly will have the ability to judge across all the models offered because he/she would actually care that much to do a little bit of extra research.

LOL at you being just as confused as he is and thinking that was an accurate assumption. Obviously the only people confused are people who don't care about the cars to begin with. If the irony here is hilarious.

LOL at you just being plain ignorant. Don't like be called a fanboy when it's perfectly fine to call someone else a fanboy when they've owned domestic and import brands? Pot calling the kettle black? Tough shit. Maybe next time you'll think a little before posting bullshit. I doubt it though.

I'll be sure to start a bitch-and-complain thread about the Mugen Civic SI because that just adds confusion to people looking to buy Civic Sedans (OEM models: DX, DX-VP, LX, LX-S, EX, EX-L) Holy shit 6 versions (not including the coupe, SI, NGV, and hybrid models)? That's sooooo confusing...:shakehead
