I bought this car from a friend in Tokyo and these hard parking stats are a combination of what he sent me (he didn't give me much of a detailed parts list) and what I've found on the car.*

Yeah, he said he was questioning himself on why the hell he even sold it when he was dropping it off at the port. I could do without the engine though. My plan with the engine is to just drive it till it blows up and then swap in a stock K24 from an Odyssey Absolute.

It's always fun to be able to beat people at red lights at night, but we don't have a road course on this island so I really have no actual use or desire for 290whp. All we have for motorsports on this island is gymkhana and an abandoned military runway that's used for 1/8 mile drag races and is on an outlaying island. The track surface of the place we do gymkhana at is a mixture of ice and glass, so this engine plus the track conditions should definitely be interesting frustrating.

That's kinda why I bought it. Most of everything has already been taken care of so I didn't need to do anything to it. Then when I got it home, I looked at it and immediately drafted up plans to change damn near everything. Funny how that works.

Honestly I just bought it because of the Ohlins and the transmission. Dude tried to keep the trans and put a stock one from an EP3 CTR on it and I told him that's a deal breaker. Tires are whatever, I'm more concerned with the brakes functioning and the ability of the rear wheels to lock than I am with how well my tires work. I can work around shitty tires, but I can't work around bad brakes.

Notched the hood, still wouldn't close, so I cut that section of the skeleton out. Still wouldn't close, so I pulled the grill off to adjust the latch. Found out that the reason why the fucking hood won't close is because the core support is twisted and was only being held in with like 1.5 bolts. I say 1.5 because one of the bolts wasn't even tightened down.


RIP hood. Your death was in vain.

Hmmm, saves some weight I guess. I think they also saved some weight by not having as much sound deadening pads as the USDM counterparts.

I don't think they have any sound deadening in them. JDM Type Rs have always been absurdly loud on the inside.

Car needs a very good cleaning inside and out. Nice pick up. NOW MAKE it your own. Change a few things and make it a different car

The car sat for 3 months, went on a boat, got picked up from the docks, and then sat for another month. It needs a lot more than a cleaning.

I'm not looking to make it my own, I'm looking to drive the piss out of it. It will become "mine" inadvertently as I find ways to make it and myself faster at gymkhana.

Car will be done by NLT Wednesday. This weekend should be fun. Will be flushing the brake fluid as well as installing some Dixcel blank rotors, Hawk HP+ pads, brand new e-brake cables, and I should have some fresh Rivals delivered on Saturday. I was expecting to be showing up to this two day gymkhana event with shit, and it looks like I'll be well prepared. Gymkhana on a 1/4 mile long run way should be a great way to learn the characteristics of this car.
